Normally an engine will backfire thru the intake when you burn the intake valve. But in this case, you just done a tune up so my guess is that you put the wrong spark plug wire on the wrong spark plug. Look at a manual for the firing order and copy exactly in the book to match your cars firing order.

The distributor is not in the right position. Put the car in TDC and adjust the distributor to the proper location (point in the rotor touching the number 1 spark plug). I assume when you did a tune-up, you did the cap and rotor. Simple fix. Back fire from the intake usually mean a 180 in the position. the crankpulley should have marks to display TDC (top dead center). Put the car in tdc by hand or pushing the car forward in 5th gear. Adjust the distributor from there.

its simple you have gotten the spark wires crossed or if you moved the distributor your out of timing ...firing order will be on intake manifold just redo or recheck wires that will fix you right up

check to make sure you put the spark plug wires back in correct order.

make sure you got the wires in the right spot and the plugs were gapped right

have a plug wire on wrong or timing is severly off

could be your timeing belt is going bad or could be bad coil good luck
