Is Conrad Black a joke or a serious problem?

A few years ago he renounced his Canadian citizenship just so that the Queen could tap him on the head with a sword and pronounce him Sir Conrad. A standing joke is that in order to become knighted by the Queen( or king) someone already has to be a knight. Now that he is in trouble in the United States, he wants his Canadian citizenship back.

Why does the United States appear to be able to handle him more effectively than Canada?

Kevin O'Leary on the Report on Business Channel seems to regard him with a mixture of awe and amusement.

If "Sir Tubby", through income tax evasion and fraud, seems to specialize in robbing liquid assets, does this tendency make him potentially less lethal than are George W. Bush and Stephen Harper through their foreign and military policies?

I am looking for opinions.

I sure hope Canada doesn't grant his request.

For once in his life former prime minister Jean Chretien was right in revoking his Canadian citizenship, but I bet he gets it back, money talks.

Conrad Black is quite the scoundrel, but he is our scoundrel. He is just as Canadian as the Liberal Party of Canada and Conrad has many of the same habits - like embezzlement. Stealing from shareholders or stealing from taxpayers-what's the difference? Welcome home Conrad.
