Sound slike it is totalled to me. Seems that the frame is also bent. But the insurance investigator has the final say. If the car is worth say $10,000 and the cost of the repair is $6000, then yes he will fix the car. But if the car is worth $6000 and the cost to repair is $7000, then no he will not repair but total your car. Do you have enough insurance for the gap? You owe $9000, but what if the insurance gives you only $5000? Look into it, call your bank. Now if you find someone who can fix your car for $4000 and the insurance company is willing to give you $6000 to total the car, you then have the option of buying your car back from the insurance company. Sometimes for only a couple of dollars. You can get the car and a few dollars left over for inconvenience.
good luck.......

if the doors and hood will still open and shut properly there is probaly no frame damage in the front clip. this means tht it can probaly be fixed by simply cutting the rear clip off and welding a new one on. but the definition of TOTALED is when the damage exceeds the value of the car, a total loss. in this case i would say that it is probally totaled. to repair an entore rear clip andall of the electrinics and lights and such that are invilved. let alone the simple fact that no matter how good the bodyman is they will never get a unibody car like that back to perfect square after an impact of that force.
hope you have a loan payoff clause in your insurence.

Most likely it is. Depending on your insurance company, they are all different...If the total repair cost exceeds the blue book value of the vehicle it is a total. They will then pay you the blue book value of the vehicle and you can get a new one, minus what you owe. You may end up just braking even. Or you can choose to fix the car anyway and it will have a branded title.

yea, its totaled. Now here is your biggest concern. Do you have GAP Insurance? If your insurance co totals your car and they issue you a ck for less than you owe you'll still be making pmts till the differene is paid off.

Have the insurance company look at it. That's what you pay for and let them determine if it's worth fixing? Or if it's a right off.

It depends on the value of the car. If the cost of repairs exceeds the appraised value, it's totaled.
I'm glad you're safe and here to tell us about it!

If the cost of getting it fixed is more than what the car is worth, it is totaled
