so than ever before, women were going out and getting jobs and supporting themselves or helping to support their families. This revolutionized women?s roles within the home and family. The women who initiated these changes during the first few decades of the 1900s are largely responsible for the huge accomplishments of womankind during the entire twentieth century.

also, women were fighting hard for their voting rights during this time...
