This reallly depends on what type of leather you have. If it is an aniline style leather which is very absorbent then the stains will have soaked in and will be permanent. Regular cleaning and protection over time may dissipate the stain and allow it to blend in. If your leather absorbs water easily or scratches then it is an aniline style leather

If it is on a pigmented leather then a good foam leather cleaner should remove what is on the surface, again anything that has been allowed to soak in will be there permanently. You cannot clean out of leather but only what is sitting on the surface.

It is therfore vital to protect the surface with a good leather protector which will inhibit oils and grease from soaking in.

DO NOT try solvents, oils, saddle soaps etc as these will only add further damage to your leather. Baby wipes are just about the worst thing you can use on leather as they will eventually destroy the finish and ruin your leather.

Remember, anything that has soaked into the leather cannot be extracted other than with professional technical products.

Recolouring is best left to the experts as DIY products will not work and may ruin your suite. The process has to be done with the correct products and in the correct way. Paint has to be the special flexible pigments used when the leather is produced.

mix a cap full of johnsons mild baby shampoo in warm water, and wash the surface..use about 2-3 liters of water.. this will open the pores of the leather, don't get it too wet though..

There is a dye in a spray can for vynl and leather. I know for sure
you can get it at Oreilly Automotive. I'm sure any other auto store
will have it. I'm in auto business and we use this for leather seats
in cars all the time. It works great. It comes in many colors. Hope
this helps.

do not paint leather. You can clean it and then dye it black, a messy job but can be done. then seal or condition it . Try the Leather Factory .they sell it all. I have reconditioned several really faded jackets and they turned out great.
