I stopped taking the pill on the 6th of Ocotber and got my period on the 11th of october. I want to fall pregnant and I stopped my period today. I know that I am Ovulating between the 20th and 27th of October and I want to know where my chances stand if I keep having sex every day between now and when my period is to start again. I want to fall pregnant before the 1st of December and my partner wants to have a baby really badly too. Who here thinks that I will fall pregnant?.
I was on the pill for 3.75 years and always had regular periods while on contraception. As soon as I stopped taking the pill I got my period 5 days later. My period lasted 5 days and I believe that it was a normal period because it was heavy and then subsided to normal bleeding.

Most OBs say to wait 3 cycles until the hormones have gotten out of your system. Mind you - it is still possible to get pregnant. Some OBs specifically prescribe the pill to "jump start" your cycle and encourage ovulation. So you very well might ovulate. I got pregnant the 2nd month after stopping the pill. The best time to get pregnant is theoretically the week (7 days) that your ovulation occurs. Until the synthetic hormones are out of your system, the only way that you will know your true cycle is to learn about the fertility signs (cervical mucus, cervical position, basal body temp), or go to the Dr. and have him/her draw blood to test LSH, FSH, and Progesterone levels ( this isn't usually done until you have been trying to get pregnant for 9 months to a year)...

With all that said, an awesome book to read is "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" , which basically tells you how to understand your body's natural fertility signs. I followed the guidelines for 2 months, and got pregnant on the second try, as I mentioned.

One last thing to remember, the 28 day cycle is a myth. It is an average cycle length. Mine was any where from 29 to 30 days. You will find the few cycles after stopping the pill will fluctuate... but don't worry!

Good luck!

It will take time for you body to balance out the hormones again. But good luck. Some people get pregnant right away others it takes longer. It took me a long to get pregnant. Also trying too hard also puts stress on both of you and that could delay things as well.

Normally a woman is the most fertile two weeks after the first day of your period. I would try having sex that week. That's what I did and I am pregnant right now. Sex every day could lower sperm count.
