This question has been asked hundreds of times. Search Yahoo Answers and you'll find many responses to past postings.

You should also think about your goals first. Why do you need a Web site? What problem are you trying to solve? Who is your audience and what do they want from you?

Then you plan properly: domain name, content, how you organize the content, how often you refresh/add to the content, what software will you need, what hosting you'll need, and how will you drive traffic to your Web site.

Then you build and test, test, test. Once your satisified, publish it live and maintain/enhance.

If you would rather focus on content and not programming, use an existing, free blog application instead. I think WordPress is a great solution to start a blog.

Checkout WordPress.com for an advertising-free, hosted blog. Many people who start on Blogger end up moving to another blog application like WordPress once they begin to realize Blogger's limitations.

Plus, in 6 months if you decide to do your own hosting and take more control over templates and design, you'll be able to easily import your WordPress postings to a self-hosted solution like WordPress.org.

Don't get frustrated. Planning makes a big difference. Invest the time to do it right.

Good luck.
