In time other people's wages will go up, but that is because prices will also rise. It is called a cost of living increase.

Raising the minimum wage is only rewarding people for being lazy. The minimum wage was and is intended to be a temporary wage. People have the responsibility to gain more value to employers which gives the employee bargaining power to get a better wage on merit instead of a forced increase by the government. There will be many who will not get jobs because small business people do not have the resources to pay more. The amount of money available for wages will keep many from growing their business. Anyone making more than the minimum wage will not get an automatic adjustment. It is the same as those who found themselves making less than new hires because of premiums needed in some professions to attract help.

Historically - when the minimum wage goes up -others follow in line like dominos. If you're doing a job that calls for more skill and/or education than a guy doing a job that calls for skills entitling him to minimum wage - you'd want a raise, too.
Even if minimum wage is raised - there ARE exceptions, you know.

No other people's wages would not go up, yet places that pay minimum wage would increase their prices, so minimum wage workers would even out while people who make more than minimum wage would be affected more by higher prices.

Usually yes, not always but most employers want to keep their employees happy most of the time and will raise their wages because of the raise in minimum wage. I think that is the whole concept, if you lift from the bottom then the whol pile moves.

No, only those below the threshold. A minimum wage was introduced in this country a few years back, yet there was no effect on those wages already above it. Sorry it's bad news.
