my mom has this old painting, its from 1984, and the name on it says "harris". but i tried looking for it on the web and i got nothing. my moms from michigan . the painting came from the town kalamazoo michigan, 49022. the sticker on the back says creative galleries inc. but it must have closed down because i couldnt find it on the web. if u know anything please help. thanks

There are so many artists in the United States, let alone globally. Finding someone like that would be very difficult. We have several painings in my house, but from artist who are just typically unknown and sell it to a company. If that was made in 1984 by a small time artist named Harris in a town in Michigan than it be to difficult. Maybe the artists has lost reputation, or never had a big reputation to begin with. Take a photo of the painting, and send or email it to either Chisties http://www.christies.com/home_page/home_page.asp or Sotheby's http://search.sothebys.com/
They are both reputable auction houses and can help you.
