I knew I had to post it here because it deals with graphics in some sort of way.

I was wondering how I could produce an AMV, so basically what I'm asking is how I could produce a video through the methods of capturing certain scenes and putting audio over it.

What softwares do I need?

Video / audio editting softwares, video capturing, etc.

I have windows, if that's a factor that should be known.

Kenneth R,

This is a good question, and learning these complicated software packages has taken me a lot of time. I will be glad to share what I use with you. I use them for another purpose, but have made movies out of Still pictures with songs overlaid on the pictures. When I got married, Video cameras were not out, so, we only have still pictures, and memories of the songs we chose. So, I made a video out of them.

You can use that same sequence of things. First, get your music exactly what you want. You can use any of the popular music edit software packages, they have sound on sound, track editing, and all kinds of sophisticated sound engineering available. The one I use is called cool edit pro. But there are many!

Then, in Adobe Premiere, I load my images, and set the timing and transitions between the images. On a sound track, I import my sound. There you have it.

Cost for these packages has been as much as $600 per package! So, you may want to shop around. The key to a compatible Audio and Visual is the file format of the Audio Output and what is acceptable in the Video for a sound track. MP3 format is a sure bet, but WAV is the output from Cool Edit.
