I stopped taking the pill on the 6th of October and got my period on the 11th of October and stopped my period today. I know that I am Ovulating between Friday the 20th of Ocotber and the 27th of October, but what are my chances of getting pregnant if I have sex everyday between now and when I am supposed to get my next period?. I mean I have heard it can take sometime after stopping the pill but my period was a real period as it lasted 5 days and was quite heavy!

If you are really trying to get pregnant, I recommend a book, "Taking Charge of your Fertility" for advice. It's the best book I ever read, actually.

Yes, you could get pregant right away, but don't expect to the first month that you try.

Good luck!

There are many factors that relate to successful conception, including the amount of synthetic hormones in your bloodstream. Women can have heavy bleeds if they stop taking oral contraceptives that are not "real" periods, ie: the uterus has not been prepared for a successful implantation the following month. However, you should also consider - among other things - your diet and weight, the motility of your male partner's sperm, the regular pattern of your ovulation (difficult to discern if you have been on the Pill), other environmental factors such as stress (including stress arising from the desire to conceive in such a short timeframe). I would suggest a visit to a family planning clinic like Planned Parenthood to discuss your options for increasing the likelihood of conception.

dear lady,
any time you have sex, you can get pregnant. Some people do get pregnant right after they stop the pill. Some people do get pregnant before during or after they ovulate. Always use protection like condoms + spremicide if you don't want to get pregnant. Why did you stop the pill?

Check out this web site it should help tell you when you are fertile so you should use some form of protection but i wouldn't use this formula as a form of birth control: www.mymonthlycycle.com
