I had to replace the nylon bushings that the front of the dryer drum rides on on my 20 year old GE dryer. It was a while ago but as I recall it wasn't too difficult. I suppose there is a belt that could be slipping or a bad bearing. Good luck.

When asking about an Appliance - always mention the brand
and even the model no. There are lots of things that make
dryers squeek -
Front drum support
rear ball support
belt tensor
drum support rollers

These are the most common things to check - in that order.

Actually, depending on the make, model of the unit, it could be any one or combination of several things. If it's a Kenmore, Whirlpool, Roper, Maytag, Admiral, or Frigidaire, it could be worn, dry drum support rollers. Worn belts seldom ever cause a squeak or squeal. If it's a GE product, it could be the teflon slides that support the drum on the front of the unit frame, or front panel, depending on the model. Usually the hardest part of replacing these things is remembering how the belt fits onto the spring loaded idler assembly.

My dryer is electrical powered and that i do no longer use it very oftentimes, fairly interior the summertime. sometimes as quickly as I commence it it is going to squeak. it quite is how I fastened mine. on the lower back there are holes around the midsection, I spray wd-40 in all of the holes, wipe away any drips and then put in some moist rags to dry. Use a low warmth and ensure that the rags are sparkling and with none chemical residue - like gas! I genuinely have basically had to try this three times in 10 years and it has continually labored for me.
