How big do black mystrey snails have to be to start breeding?

I had an issue with alge and got 6-8 pea sized snails for the fish tank. I was wondering if they can start to mulitply at this size. I'm kinda hoping they wont mass produce and that the goldfish in the tank will eat the eggs....

Black mystery snails are not asexual and like the other person said they need a mate. But since you have 6-8 I'm sure you have both sexes there. They lay their eggs above the water line so if you see them just scrape them off and throw them out if you don't want babies.

I don't know why people get snails to clean their tanks, yes they will eat the algae but they would rather eat food. If you were starving I'm sure you would eat trash too but you wouldn't like it and won't be healthy from eating it and neither will they.

Mine was about the size of a half dollar when she started to have eggs and they will lay their eggs out of the water so that when the babies hatch they will fall out into the water. Once they start laying eggs they lay for a long time. The water and aquarium has to be ideal for them to lay them though or they will not. Mine crossed with a gold mystery snail and it was about the size of a golf ball when they mated. Both have now died since but we have over 150 babies out of the two. We gave lots away. So when they do lay eggs be prepared to have an overload of snails.

Well I would find out how big they get once reaching there sexual age. I know snails can multiple in mass when they want to though so watch out.
