Christmas time here in Orlando is busy... It does get cold here and does get down into the 50's in the day and 20's at night (Fahrenheit), and since we are surrounded by water it feels a lot cooler and breezy. I know people that came down from up north and complained that it was colder then they had expected. Pants and at least a sweatshirt might help, especially at night time. The theme parks all decorate with beautiful decorations everywhere you look. Disney changes all their parades to Christmas parades, and MGM has the Osborne Family Christmas Lights, which is a must see. They decorate Streets of America with millions of lights, it "snows", it is just breath taking. I know a lot of hotels put up at least a Christmas tree in there lobby, not sure if they do much else though. If you come down and rent a car drive around in a few surrounding neighborhoods and just look at the Christmas decorations people have put up, some houses even have "Santa" and candy and things.

Almost everything in Orlando is decorated. The theme parks are beautifully done, but BEWARE, Christmas Day is THE busiest day for the Magic Kingdom! I live in Florida and I always have someone down for the Holidays and they always want to go to the theme parks and I refuse to let them go Christmas Day because of the crowds. Magic Kingdom is the worst for the crowds Epcot wasn't to bad last year But I would rather do another day. If your going to be here, and want to see really nice decorations then don't miss the lights at MGM its outstanding. Enjoy KG

Disney World is fantastic during Christmas time. All of the parks have decorations and special events. Parades, parties, soecial guests, storytime, character dressed up as Santa, etc. It is truly a magical time.
The resorts decorate as well...to a certain extent. I do believe th Grand Floridian is supposed to be the most spectactular at Christmas. Some resorts also have special events going on during the holidays.
Check out disneyworld.com for more information about their events.
And have fun!

Very, very, very crowded. If you can go a week or two before Christmas, everything is decorated but the crowds are still at home. Some parks are so crowded you can't get into them unless you are staying at an onsite hotel (Disney's Magic Kingdom is gridlock). Hotels and parks are decorated and worth seeing. (I was there in very early January one year and some of the stuff was still up. Very pretty and festive).

Well, it won't be that cold...so don't bring a huge heavy jacket or something. Um...the theme parks usually decorate according to the season, and I'm sure there would be special christmas events going on. Hotels being decorated? Not sure about that, maybe on the outside.
If all else fails you could always drive around and look at people's christmas lights, that's always nice...

I've never been (yet) but I just found a good resource for my neighbor who is going. It is a website called http://www.christmasinorlando.com. Looking at this site, I am jealous. There is SOOO much to do in Orlando for Christmas!
As for hotels, this site promotes a lot going on at Gaylord Palms hotel. It must be enormous, as they have ice skating, shows and a refrigerated ice show with slides made of ice. Yeah, that looks the COOLEST!

All of the themeparks are decorated. At Universal, you can see the "Grinch" instead of the normal visit Santa at the mall. Disney is WAAAAAY too crowded. I actually live in Christmas, FL on Christmas! They keep a x-mas tree up all year long (& someof the residenst keep lights on thier house all year too (it's mainly trailor homes there). I make sure i mail all of my x-mas cards from Christmas, FL.
The first xmas in FL, my family came to visit me (they are from Ohio). We spent to daytime at the beach & went to "Capones for dinner! The day before, we went to Disney & seen nothing (too crowded to do anything there).

Its usually about 70 degrees. And well, Disney is always fun. It is however pricey. Then once your inside everything is pricey. Food is real pricey. So eat a big breakfast. But the rides are sweet. Universal studios is real sweet. Then their is Bush gardens just around the corner in Tampa. Then their is Gatorland Zoo with all the aligators and snakes and turtles, well you get the picture. Then their is Seaworld, with all the aquatic animals who perform shows. If you stay at a hotel they usually have racks full of brochures about local amusment parks.
