maybe ur system affected from a trojan which prevents u signin in yahoo messnger, once i have had the same prob. scan ur system for viruses.

If you merely downloaded the file, it has to be executed and have your preferences set. What do you have on your desktop?
When I download anything, I opt to save it as opposed to "run" it. When you click to download, and get the window to run or save, select save. To speed things up, I save it to the desktop, and execute it from there with a double-click.
I created a folder in My Documents for Downloaded Programs and before executing, I put a copy there for safekeeping. Then, I execute the file on the desktop,

Did you install it or only download it? The file that you download needs to be "run" to install the software. If nothing is happening you may have a corrupt file or you don't have rights to install software.
Post what the name of the file is and the size.

sometimes that is challenge-free...in simple terms look on the backside superb of the computer and u ought to have icons there on your bar and there may be a huge gamble that the yahoo messenger icon must be there

Also try rebooting a couple of times. Uninstall and reinstall. Reboot.

i have had problems with messenger as well mine keeps shutting down my computer. i have rebooted and it still happens HELP
i cant correspond with any body when i do get into it

its just b/c there are some errors while you install YM . You can reinstall it.
Or maybe your computer has viruses. You should check for viruses too

try unistalling it , and reinstall it
