Anything which is not personal.

There can be a money transaction, or there can be a notional transaction of goodwill. This is sometimes put in balance sheets of companies when more money is paid for a company than its physical fixed assets are worth.

However, it is very difficult to tax the built up of goodwill. The taxman will go bankrupt if everyone decided to charge nothing in a community. If instead everyone just relied on a notional credit balance of goodwill.

The taxman is going to go bonkers soon if everyone keeps working for nothing!
