Undoubtabley they will be hard to get during the holidays, so if you want one, then it may be hard around the release day. But Nintendo did say they planned to ship alot, so it won't be as hard as getting the The PS3 or the Xbox last year.

You absolutely should preorder the Wii. But you may have missed the boat. Only EB GAMES/GAMESTOP took preorders from my understanding. And the preorders were extremely limited. Some store got as little qouta as 2 units launch day. The biggest reason you should preorder is the guarantee that you don't have to pay a scalpers price on EBAY and you most difinently can get one. I strongly suggest you preorder the Wii, even if you get put on backorder you should still get it before Thanksgiving or shortly thereafter.

You should pre-order or wait 4 months for a second chance to buy it.
