it all depends upon the person. cats are more independent and you don't have to let them outside to poop. dogs tend to follow you around much more and are really loyal, but they need to be trained as well as let outside to poop often.
i prefer cats because i don't have the schedule to deal with letting a dog outside to poop all the time. nor, do i like them jumping on me, so i would have to train a dog a lot. i love cats because they purr and they don't bark.

If you can spend alot of time with the animal, and have a good place to exersise it, a dog is a much more intelligent companion, if you have less time, than a cat. May be good to get more than one dog (if you choose dog) or cat (if you choose cat) so they have a partner to interact with. Pets take alot of time, and commitment and resources, so if you are not ready for that you better not get either. To many people pets become like part of the family, so think of it as an adoption and lifelong commitment either way.

will, depending on if you want a challengee or lazy challeng. dogs, you have to potty train and they all need exercise. a walk will be fine. dog you can play with and feel safe all the time. cat, you can litter train them and you can't feed a cat a lot because they will get fat way faster then a dog. when the get fatter they get more lazier. cats you feel all lazy and don't have as much fun as you do with a dog. my aunt had a cat. she was very active and she was not active anymore. when her cat die, we got her a dog and she lost sooo much wight. she spend more time with the dog outside and away from the kitchen. hope you decide on a dog!

Dedends on the person and the lifestyle they have or the size of dwelling they live in. I like both and 3 of each. For people that are gone most of the time like to have cats because they are independent or people that live in a small apartment like them. People that are active or home a lot like dogs. So it really just depends... neither is better than other. They both have good and bad things.

I prefer dogs because I don't like the flying cat hair and cats get on counters and tables. and they have litter boxes to be kept clean everyday ..not many cats go for walks with their owners as dogs do..and dogs play outside , ball and different things. cats don't.

A cat is better. Cats clean themselves and cover up their poop. They groom themselves and are sophisticated animals that demand respect. Gotta love that! Dogs eat **** and sniff people's crotches and piss on your car tires and you have to housetrain them. Cats learn as soon as a kitten to use the litter box or go outside. And Dogs stink when they are wet and their breath can stink if you dont give them treats constantly. Trust me...get a cat.
