What is the evidence?

We may be, but interaction between universes is probably impossible.

Evidence towards this comes from quantum mechanics, where multiverse theory was first brought forward as a genuine answer to quantum phenomena by Hugh Everett, who named it the Many Worlds Interpretation.

Imagine two photons fired in opposite directions from the same source. We know each photon will have the opposite spin to one another but until we measure them we don't know which has which spin. As soon as one is measured we know the spin of both, but until then they both contain both possible spins at the same time. This is known as the collapse of the wavefunction.

The problem with this theory (known as the Copenhagen Interpretation) is that it is observer dependent. The absurdities were highlighted by the Schrodingers Cat though experiment.

Multiverse theory removes the need for an observer to define the state of the physical universe by saying that every possiblilty DOES occur at once, but in a different universe each time, each possibilty branching into a new universe.

There are many followers of this theory today, especialy those unsatisfied with the Copenhagen Interpretation.

It depends on how you define it.

If you are talking about the physical manifestation of another Universe that we could (at least in theory) physically enter. Then I would certainly hope so. We can not, for the sake of reality and my sanity, be the ending and highest expression of Life.

If you are speaking of having layers of 'realities' that are intermingled somehow in the same physical space and are happening at the same 'time', I am not sure although I lean towards 'no'. I think that all things happen in a lineal progression but in a circular way. The Actual Measurement of Time is on a scale so incredibly different that we can't even begin to think about it. I am fully aware that it might just be that I don't understand it or that it's just more comfortable for me to think this, and that is why I think it might be Truth.

I am not sure that there is any proof that doesn't sound like you need serious medication. As a species, we will not believe it until it bites in the butt and there is no possible way to ignore it any longer. So we would have to have some other Life come and knock on our door good and hard before we would be able to come to the conclusion that there might be other Life out there.

Cool question, though

Well since it also refers to a concept or plot I dont think so. Its popularily used in science fiction novels. It was actually influenced by a real theory that they called "Many Worlds". David Deutsch made it popular. I dont really know thats a good question I mean I dont see how it would be possible, But at the same time it could be possible because we kind of do live in many worlds if you think about how split up the earth is. Its like quantamachanics We do live in a multiverse and we dont at the same time. *that was kind of complicating*

The whole science of our existence in the world is hypothetica. We have more evidence of universe than multiverse. However, none of them have concrete evidence.
