What is the best movie you've seen that you were told by loads of people was a pile of garbage?
For example i was told the 'The Island' was a terrible movie but i watched it yesterday and thought it was ace!

Paycheck (2003), starring Ben Affleck - I read a review of this movie comparing it to Minority Report, how wrong it was.
Waterworld (1995) was another movie that received poor press reviews.

When I told my friends I was going to watch "Duel" by a certain film director called Spielberg, they just said "What? Never heard of it, must be crap!" But I thought it was an excellent film. Okay there's no crash-bang-wallop explosions or flashy visual effects, but there's bags of suspense in it and it is a film which is very believable that it could actually happen to you if you're out driving one day and you run into a psycho driver with a souped up tanker.

some movies is complex to some people, so when they watch it they just say it was a bad movie, but if they watch an easy understandable movie, they say wow how good is this movie, so I don't make any idea about any movie I was not watch, in the first time I watch it, I just take a first idea about the movie, second time I can made my decision about the movie
don't believe any thing you heard from people about movies

The Ring 2.
Everyone said it was complete rubbish but I thought it was as good as the first.
I thought the Island was brilliant too, bit like Logan's Run.

Would you believe Star Wars? I was the last of my "gang" to see it and most of the others thought it was cool to diss it off. But then they'd rave on about something like Stand Up Virgin Soldiers!!! I've lost touch with all of those guys not surprisingly

O My God yh same here, evryone gave that film such bad reviews but it was excellent!! i actuly luvvvd that film, it wz sooo good and waznt the usual predictable rubbish, it was reeeallyyy good! couldn't beleieve the critics said such bad stuff about it, anyone who aint seen it yet, ignore all that s h i t, watch it man itz really good.

Most movies in general suck...i guess i dont appreciate the artistic and creative thinking but movies like The Matrix or Lord of the Rings...they are absolutely awful...

Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights...it was hilarious! Actually, a lot of sandler's movies are criticized, but i like most of them!
