I'm a total germ freak, grossed out at not knowing who was in there last time, and doing what.. how do you get over that fear??

If you can afford it have a professional cleaning before you move in, top to bottom - floors scrubbed, carpet shampooed and bathroom tiles made to sparkle, fresh lining paper too. Don't forget to change any air filters and place filters in your heating vents to freshen the air ceiling fans too. If you can't afford a pro DIY - Grab your gloves and go for it. It is natural to be concerned about the new place being clean and bug free but you can do something about it. This will also give you a great starting point to begin to make your new digs your home.

A few years ago I saw George Carlin on HBO and I think he said it best when he said something like, "Your body has antibodies to protect you, but they need germs to practice on, hell, when we were kids we swam in the hudson river, full of raw sewage. We never got sick cause our antibodies were constantly fighting germs, keeping strong and in shape." Not an exact quote, but close I think and it makes total sense to me.

Just bug-bomb it, open all the windows and doors and let it air out a day, then clean to your specifications and you'll be just fine! Good luck with your new home!

im a germ freak to if something is slimy like fish tank like there flowers scrup them with old tooth brush scrup the slimy stuff.scrup everything that is slimy and germy scrup.

I think certain psychiatrists make a good living working on this very subject. If you can't figure out how to cope with it yourself, you may wish to visit one of them.
