there's really nothing wrong with irregular periods. my cousin actually didn't have her period for 5-6 months at times. if you're really under stress, not eating right, or anything else can really irregulate your period. if you are really concerned and of age, then you should be going to a gyno and getting a check up. they might put you on birth controls to regulate your period

There are many reasons why you could be missing your period, first thought would be pregnancy, but if you said no sex and not a possibility then other reasons would be: diet and exercise, sometimes if you do alot of exercise then it will cause your periods to stop(sometimes girls who run track, or do alot of jogging have this happen)/if you have lost or gained alot of weight this could also cause this to happen, another reason could be medication, some medications may make you stop having a period even if it just for a short time. The best thing you could do is to see your OB/GYN if this continues and if your really worried.
Hope this helps and good luck!!

Irregular or missing periods can be a sign of hormonal change. This can be caused by stress, change in exercise, change in supplements or prescription medications or any one of several other factors. If you are fairly young, it's more likely that you would have irregular cycles. Some women always do and it's just their body's differences. There's no harm in that... just some women find it difficult to conceive when they don't have regular times of ovulation.

You might want to consult with your physician and have him/her do a bit of hormonal testing just to make sure you're producing all the right levels if they feel that's appropriate and if you're on the pill it might be time to switch to a different type... or to go on the pill if you're not already in order to help regulate your cycles.

Some women are just irregular. I used to only get my periods twice a year -- for YEARS. Some women are just like that.

Also, if you have lost a lot of weight recently, or if you are very athletic, that could cause your periods to stop.

I'd recommend a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" -- it's more than just about how to get pregnant -- it's explains your cycles very well. It wll help you realize when you are ovulating so you can best predict when your periods will start.

Are you taking any medication or under a lot of stress? Sometimes illness can cause deviation from normal schedule, as well. I knew a girl who would go several months without, and then have a really bad one, and I myself periodically skip months. Sometimes, birth control pills help to regulate a period (check, even though you aren't active). That's what my friend began to use to help with hers. I would talk to a physician.

You didn't mention your age, but it could be any number of things. Sometimes stress will mess up your periods or perhaps there is some kind of hormonal imbalance, ovarian cyst or even early menopause. Have you lost a significant amout of weight lately? I suggest you make an appointment with your gynecologist.

Stress can cause a delay, or a change in diet. Some girls just have irregular periods, I don't think there's much to worry for, but call your gyno or something just in case!

dont worry, go and see your doc, he will send you for a blood test anyway, to rule out other medical problems.doctor should give you a thorough examination in case something's wrong.
a period could be late as a result of stress
extreme weight loss
Thyroid problems
Too much prolactin
excessive exercise

could be a lot of things and stress is usually the cause of skipped periods. if you havent been having sex then thats probably what it is or it could also be your diet. i know that sounds crazy but thats what i've been told.

the only person who can answer this is your doc. go see him, get some tests to rule out things, have a blood test. It could be several things, age, stress even can cause periods to stop.
