Don't use crappy services like that. They are the McDonalds of the computer industry, and you get what u pay for. Bring it to a local computer shop, have them help you out. They can usually clean it up in an hour, without reinstalling your OS and ruining all your gamesaves, bookmarks and downloaded MP3 files. They'll talk with you and even educate you (if you are so inclined) so you can make sure it doesn't happen again.
You should pay between $30 - $70 depending on whats wrong with it (if its only software).

If you plan to sell it then I recommend you use Heidi's Eraser software program. Eraser is a free utility which will scrub your hard drive clean. Even after formatting a hard drive, it is still possible to recover data from it. And, there are several horror stories about how innocent people who donate their computers have their user ids and passwords stolen because they were left behind on the hard drive. Eraser will sanitize your hard drive; everything is wiped clean including any malicious files. You can download the latest version at: http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/download.php

Yes you can take it to one of those places for a clean install of the OS. You can insert your XP CD that should have come with the computer and format and re-install windows as well. I'm not sure if alienware computers ship with a restore CD if it does just insert that and it will take it back to it original ship state.

Yes Geek Squad would be more than happy to clean it for you, for only $100 to $200. Just download AVG virus scan, and then Ad-Aware SE and they should clean it up pretty well.

If you merely format it, then reinstall Windows, won't that do it? Try formatting in Safe Mode so any self-executing viruses won't be able to activate.
