Just when it starts to get warm in there, wouldn't the walls begin to melt inside and get you damp? How could one possibly survive, much less be comfortable?

well, it is quite warm, but the walls dont melt, as the cold from the outside keeps them frozen

It's not as bad as you think, would you rather be out where there's no shelter at all.
