The Atomic Number of an atom is the number of protons in the nucleus of that atom.
The Mass Number of an atom is the sum of the number of protons and neutrons.
Mass Number = Number of Protons + Number of Neutrons.

So your answer should be 34 + 40 =74

74...just add the protons and neutrons...but don't worry about the electrons because they are so small that their mass is insignificant.
