Im REAL tired of hear all you conservative extremists preach about your hero Bush. The man has done nothing for this country except contribute over 5 TRILLION to our national debt, as well as starting a pointless war in which 2500 americans have died. not to mention 60000 innocent civilians. But you know what? If thats what the "people" want, (by people I mean the trailer park trash right wing war mongering Bush tools and Big corporations blinded by the big pay checks.) then I guess thats the way things are going to be..... But as soon as people realize that there CAN be peace without war (contrary to what conservatives will have you think, things will start getting better...hopfully. And if ANYONE has the audacity to mention 9/11, know this. I was there. I am a new yorker. I know the pain better than anyone who wasnt directly involved. so dont dare come at me with that. excuse my misspellings, im a bit frustrated.

You can't win this argument. There is no reasoning behind some of the rhetoric (on both sides).
I too am a NYer and am mystified by outsiders who think I should be happy that Bush is doing so much for us by retaliating in Iraq. I've had many people from other parts of the country and other parts of the world believe we 9/11 survivors support invading Middle Eastern countries.
We just want peace. That is what NYers want. They don't want their pain used as an excuse for war. We want to find solutions to the problems that caused the terrorism. Getting to the root of the evil not "regime change". Even if we overthrew every Middle East government who is anti-America, we would still be a target. We want to feel safe in our city and to date, we don't have that.
Bush doesn't bring that peace for me or my family but frankly I don't know who could. I did see Clinton get out of his big black SUV in the Village on 9/12 near St. Vincent's hospital. A woman walked right up to him crying with a flyer with her missing loved one on it. He didn't bat an eye but took his arms and hugged her until she stopped crying.

Whats living in a trailer got to do with it,moron? I agree that Bush is a brainless dick and whoever voted for him are also brainless *****. Ya know, I live a good ways from New York, on the same coast, though. I spent that whole day crying for you and your fellow New Yorkers, so why do you feel the need to lash out and bash people that cared for you when they didnt even know you? I hate the way our country is and it all stared that day. There are probably some stupid people out there that say, if it hadnt been for that **** that started in New York we wouldnt be losing our jobs right now. Everyone that is low to middle class has had it worse in the last 6 years than they have had in a LONG time so, I dont understand how Bush can be praised for anything. Try to relax.

A new study, due to be published on The Lancet’s website today, has found that there have been 655,000 “excess” Iraqi deaths since the US invaded, compared to how many would have died if previous death rates had continued. The confidence interval is from 426,369 to 793,663 deaths. From the Washington Post:
The surveyors said they found a steady increase in mortality since the invasion, with a steeper rise in the last year that appears to reflect a worsening of violence as reported by the U.S. military, the news media and civilian groups. In the year ending in June, the team calculated Iraq’s mortality rate to be roughly four times what it was the year before the war.
Of the total 655,000 estimated “excess deaths,” 601,000 resulted from violence and the rest from disease and other causes, according to the study. This is about 500 unexpected violent deaths per day throughout the country. […]
The same group in 2004 published an estimate of roughly 100,000 deaths in the first 18 months after the invasion. That figure was much higher than expected, and was controversial. The new study estimates that about 500,000 more Iraqis, both civilian and military, have died since then — a finding likely to be equally controversial.[…]
While acknowledging that the estimate is large, the researchers believe it is sound for numerous reasons. The recent survey got the same estimate for immediate post-invasion deaths as the early survey, which gives the researchers confidence in the methods.[..]
They visited 1,849 randomly selected households that had an average of seven members each. One person in each household was asked about deaths in the 14 months before the invasion and in the period after.
The interviewers asked for death certificates 87 percent of the time; when they did, more than 90 percent of households produced certificates.
According to the survey results, Iraq’s mortality rate in the year before the invasion was 5.5 deaths per 1,000 people; in the post-invasion period it was 13.3 deaths per 1,000 people per year. The difference between these rates was used to calculate “excess deaths.”[…]
Gunshot wounds caused 56 percent of violent deaths, with car bombs and other explosions causing 14 percent, according to the survey results. Of the violent deaths that occurred after the invasion, 31 percent were caused by coalition forces or airstrikes, the respondents said.

You did not have to put in your question that you are a New Yorker, that was obvious by your inability to spell and your ignorance of the facts. The only thing worse than a liberal is a retarded liberal from New York. Remember 9/11 and stop supporting the terrorists.

I have to agree with you. But my only comment would be: Stupid is as stupid does. Hope the people have wised up. If not, I guess more people will become homeless and hopeless because of this mess. Of course the hard-core crooks will never stop until they die.

This is still a free country, and people are entitled to their opinions, whether you agree or not. I'm not a Bush fan but he is the president. I support my country, with all it's faults and with all the weirdos that live in it. I wouldn't want that job and I seriously doubt that you could do any better.

It's called freedom of speech, if you don't want to hear opposing views stick to the music pages. I don't like their views but it is their right to express them, just as you can state an opinion instead of just whining.
