Are you a Pinoy, Can you pls help me translate my favorite Filipino song "Anak" in English?

Question

Although I don't understand well the lyrics and haven't yet seen who was the writer of this song, its melody is remarkable. My Filipino friends (older than me) told me that this was very famous in Asia back then. I hope someone could translate it in English, as clear as possible so that i could appreciate more the message of the song. thanks and God bless us :)

(Somehow, it loses some of its emotional value and meaning when it's translated. It may even sound so preachy in English. The lyrics relies on mode of the Filipino language to convey the unique cultural nuances of the song. It's still better to learn it in Filipino.)
