My tires are very expensive and other than the uneven wear are in good shape. What damage am I doing to my truck by driving it with that terrible vibration on the highway?

get a wheel alignment after you get new tires, also get tires balanced

if you can't afford new tires then try taking them to a service station, tell them what you just typed and see if they will do a tire rotation and balancing. - it might cut down on some of the vibration. sometimes it is not the tires that cause this though, sometimes it is just the way the vehichle is made. I had a 1973 buick that did the shimmy shake until it got up to 70 mph then it was smooth as silk I have also had a 1989 chevy corsica that shook between 45 and 55 mph. good luck to you - oh and those other people gave some good advice too - a front end alignment would be a good idea if you can afford it

IF they aren't Balanced Correctly then U are leaving very small amount of rubber on the road behind U . IF they were high speed balanced correctly & the Front end was Aligned & ALL your shocks were good & the steering & suspension parts were good then U wouldn't b having this Problem is has SUCH Expensive tires on it.IF Tire pressure is UP 2 Specs then U are just supporting the Rubber Industry that supply material to the tire manufactures. !!!

You either need a tire allignment or a tire balance.
Do the allignment test. Drive down a straight road, take your hands off the wheel for a few seconds and see if the car eventually drifts off to either side. If it drifts to either side you probably need an allignment. If the allignment is fine, you may need the tire balancing.

you probably need new tires ,they could try to balance them but if they are out of round from wear it might be next to impossible.I have been in the tire buisness over 16 years.
