If you have a good, solid plan and your parents to back you up, you can go to the bank and ask for a loan. I'm assuming here you do have a plan for the kind of business you want to start. Starting your own business has got more to do with insight, ideas and stamina than with age I think.

I reccommend an owner/operator business(sole proprietorship has no overhead). before starting the business I'm in now I gave serious thought to this.
Mobile/on site oil changing service. You go to their home, their workplace, wherever. Some people are still too busy to take their car in for a 15 minute oil change. This way, while they're having dinner, or they're at work...the car is being serviced.

get in touch with AARP. the american association for retired people. they love to do stuff like that. if u have the drive determination and a product that the people want, ur chance is as good as the backing u get to get u started.
