Guys, do all of you take long to go no.2? My husband can stay on the toilet on average 17minutes a pop. I just don't understand how he can waste so much time sitting there. Why can't he just stop, drop and go? Ladies, Are your husbands like this? It really isn't cute anymore and I am really annoyed at this. Is this normal?

17 minutes? That's nothing...my husband has yours beat by at least 15 minutes! I don't get it either, it annoys the heck out of me...especially when I have to pee!

Wow, people are really rude...it's not like you said you hate him for it and are thinking about divorce! Geez!

I pretty sure it's a man thing. My husband takes a cup of tea with him,and a book, and you might not see him for at least 30 to 40 minutes. When I ask him,why do you take so long,he says he was just relaxing doing his business.(and no,he isn't constipated as I have also asked him that question). My dad also took along time too,but he was worse than my husband,My dad had his own toilet, and he would take a pot of tea,his cigarettes and he had a chess board in there. It doesn't baffle me any more,I have just learnt to accept it's a man's thing.

Awww. Give the guy a break! It's been a tradition in my family growing up and now in mine that we tend to enjoy our time in the "library," men and women. Even my 11 year old daughter hangs out to read.

Some people like a quickie in there, but millions of people take their time. That's why there is even a publication dedicated to this sacred American tradition. It's Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. Buy a copy for your husband, and humor him rather than nag him. Life's too short, so take his quirky bathroom habits in good humor! :-)

1) It is a long time and you should probably help him to get some more fiber in his diet. Either whole grains or vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and asparagus.

2) Why are you timing him? It's really invasive and weird.

3) If this is the most annoying thing he does, you should thank him for being such a great husband.

You don`t say how old he is or if he is diabetic.
Most people with diabetes have several systems slowing or shutting down.
There is a gastronomical change that causes diarrhea and lose stools .
Just when you think you`re done ,you go again and again.
If he is older the same thing happens when your digestive system changes .
Just wait until you get older .
Leaky bladder ,hot flashes ,heart trouble ,digestive ailments and so on .
Women have more problems ,but later in life .

Men tend to like to sit on the toilet and read. My father spent so much time doing so we had a sign made up for the bathroom door "The Reading Room". There really is nothing to get "annoyed" about, is something this small can really bother you then maybe you shouldn't have gotten married. There a lot of worse things a man can do in a marriage other than spend alot of time sitting on the toilet.

I think missy you need to get a life!
If a person can't go to the toilet in peace...without his partner timing him!!!
WOW
What if it were you?
Men do take longer o.k....so leave the poor guy to have at least time to take care of his stuff......I have never in my 52 yrs heard of such a thing.....how can you even ask such a question?

Do you time him on everything else, and people wonder 'why' men are like they are....Leave the poor guy alone.........have you no shame.

I'll answer a question with a question. Why does it matter?
Can you buy a new pair of shoes in 17 minutes? I would bet you husband doesn't have a stop watch on you.

Mine will turn the faucets on and let the water run while he is in there. I guess it helps hime meditate. Then when he is done after like forever, he'll use almost a whole role of toilet paper to wipe. That I just don't understand.

You are kidding right? you time him in the bathroom?
This is a major problem for you?
Some men use the bathroom as a sanctuary, where they will not be bothered.
Give him healthier food and his digestive system will work better.
Increase his fiber intake. Maybe he has a medical condition, maybe he just wants some quiet time alone.
