why?

Just want to see a different side of the argument, because lately all we hear about is why it is wrong.

Historically, the US has gone through cycles of "isolationism" and the "spread of democracy..."

We can see the obvious errors of extremes either way...

Right now, the US is divided. Part of the US would like to be isolationists (take care of our own problems--strengthen our borders), and the other part sees a real need to establish democracy in the Middle East...

Ironically, the left blames the "Christian Right" for the Iraq war. Ironic, because most Christian Righter's do not believe peace in the Mid-East is possible...

The reason the CR continues to support our President is:
1. He IS our president, and we ARE at war.
2. We believe the threat of radical Islamic terrorism is REAL, and that they want US dead.
3. We believe the liberal agenda will DESTROY everything that is GOOD about America (starting with the Constitution).
4. We believe there is no country in the world with a better form of government than ours.

This does not mean we think Bush is perfect (we don't expect any human being to be perfect).

so a ways as i'm able to remember FDR, Kennedy, and Johnson have been all liberals, so it would not be a clean breed of liberals that believes conflict is justified. sure Bush became precise in going into Afghanistan to get people who attacked us. We invaded Afghanistan interior months of 911. there have been very few protests then It became in basic terms whilst Bush started attempting to justify his conflict in Iraq with the "conflict on terror" that hundreds began protesting.

If you are asking about the Iraq war, i have to say it is not justified. If you are asking about the war on the ppl who declared war on us on Sept. 11th, YES our response is justified.
i just wish that our President, among others, would come forth and say who our enemy is. It is virtually impossible to win a war against an unspecified enemy. Terror is a tactic. IT IS NOT the enemy! The enemy IS radical Islam. The enemy is anyone who can justify blowing themselves up in a crowded marketplace to take out as many civilian lives as possible as a means to gain 'paradise'. The enemy is any pattern of thought which suggests that it is perfectly alright to murder anyone who disagrees with you on any matter of religion. THAT IS THE ENEMY! And radical Islam justifies using violence to further its end.

Any dictatorship is ALWAYS fair game for being overthrown by any [significantly] freer state; we were/are justified. The only question is, is it in our interest. Had we decisively clobbered them, there’d be no insurgency. Instead, twice now (Bush 41 & now Bush 43), we have let much of the enemy alive to fight another & another day.
