The slope is defined to be the change in y divided by the change in x. From your first point to your second, you go up 2 and left (back) 3. So your slope is -2/3.

This task is easier than you might think. Subtract the two y values , 5-3. then subtract the two x values in the same order: 2-5
the first answer is 2 and the second is -3.
Make a fraction out of your two answers, putting the y answer on the top.
so you get 2/-3 and the result is a slope of -2/3.
