I had a foot surgery and after that I got a blood clot. I started taking coumadin a little over a month ago and my gyn told me to stop the birth control pills due to the clot, but I hear about pregnancy and coumadin not being a good match. Has anyone gotten pregnant while taking coumadin?

Pregnant while on coumadin? NO. It's not a pregnacy pill. BUT- stopping your birth control pill will cause you to be pregnant. Pregnacy and coumadin doesn't go well together because of course coumadin is a blood thinner. The docs doesn't want you to bleed to death while giving birth. so what they do is- stop the coumadin 2-3 days before giving birth.

My mom is a nurse who all she specializes in is Coumadin. She said that it's ok but you should talk to your doctor. You dont even have to go there just call him.
