Listen to your baby and remember that food for the first year is for practice and not nutrition. They get all their nutrition from breastmilk or formula. 75% of their calories should come from milk for the first year. It is recommended to start solids at 6 months and slowly work up from there. Listen to their cues. Some babies aren't ready for solid food until later. Many mothers worry if their babies aren't eating solids, but remember that they don't really need them yet. Here's a helpful website that says how much they should be eating at what age. Hope this helps.

The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding until at least 2 year and longer if possible.

For little ones it is more about socialization - they only eat little bits of food. People are feeding babies solid food at 3 & 4 months!!!!

No kid should eat only 3 meals a day - 4-5 smaller is recommended. Same advice as dieting adults - its better for their health.

It is proven that jared baby food is just as safe i watched a whole program on it, now with the new health regulations it is the same as organic but organic is more expensive. I started feeding my baby 3 times a day at 5 months shes a hungry girl. if they start fussy more than usual then up the solids but dont replace the formula or breast milk with it.

I nursed our children and fed them no food at all until about 9 months old. At this point, they didn't need baby food, because they had teeth. I think it is totally best to avoid any food but human milk for as close to a year as you can, then switch to organic grownup food. Eschew that jarred garbage.

(I say organic food because a recent study of a california elementary school found every single kid had high levels of pesticide in their blood - with one exception. One child had no pesticide residues and the researchers found his parents fed him only organic food.)
