is not the job that we can't stand cause wherever we work it will be the same thing cause boils down to human that we have to face and live with. so no matter how bad the place you have been with, if you can't stand and take the challenges there, where ever you go it will be the same.
when i was working back home i used to tell my staffs, there's no other worst working place than this xxxxx company and if they all can stand this company and the way that i work wherever they go in the future they will be able stand up to any challenges that are in line. while we have the chance to experience it do the best while we can cause when you are at your new job you won't need to learn the same challenges that you had learnt in your previous job cause that will only makes us to be a more stronger, mature and wiser person not only in our job but every aspects of our lives. the company that i've been is not only political with people and all the evil attitutes that we had to face but benefits, welfare etc are not any better as well but then on the other hand we really ought to ask ourselves what kind of pay would ever satisfy us for a job? all companies are more a less the same with all these problems cause that's why it makes them so rich and not us the staff so isn't it the same every where?
although i used to be very tough too with my staffs when i was at work and now has left the company but i am very proud they still remember me until today although i'm no longer at home and i used to tell my staffs, if any company hires them i will definitely lose a staff (if they are good) but i'll be very proud of their success cause i know i've contributed and play a part in their career making an impact in their career for a better job.
if one leave for a new job for a career advancement which they believe the company no longer will be able to provide then them then go ahead to strive for your career.
it is about responsibilities and accountability to our self no matter what we do not only in our job but life as a whole.

Angel1993,
GOOD FOR YOU! Working at a job you hate affects all areas of your life. Like you said, it's not even worth the paycheck or benefits.
I did the same thing when I worked at Wells Fargo. Seeing how they cheated their customers disgusted me. What was worse was the fact that I would never bank there, even before I started working for them. I walked off the job after 3 months, and I couldn't have been happier.
I now have a job that I absolutely love.
As for the jerks who are criticizing you, tell them to mind their business or start paying some of your bills. You worked at that place for years, you gave it more than a try.
Some job hunting tips:
Online job boards (Career Builder, websites for companies you want to work for).
Temp Agencies (Clerical (you never know where they may lead), agencies in your profession)
Professional Societies
As far as your resume, list the job to show your stability. When asked why you left, state that you needed more responsibility and challenges. Use a friend from the company as a reference.
Best of luck! I know you will succeed!

They envy you for your strength. confidence and decisiveness. Personally I give you a big HOORAY! Because I think it's great that you quit when you did. And you're right, you will find a new job because employers are always looking for people with strength, confidence and decisiveness. The good ones are anyway and your next job will be a whole lot better than your last. Maybe you can start something yourself. Good luck.

I've been there, done that. since you don't have to worry about the money part. then you'll fine. your Friends are obviously concerned about the fact that what are you going to say on your next job when they ask you "why did you live last job?". you can explained to your new job when asked that question - it was time to move on, under challenged, no room for advancement. all kinds of cramp like that. good luck my friend and that was a great decision to tell them "take this job and shove it!"

I'm about to do it after several years, and go back and finish my degree. Two years on, I'll have a great job in a guarenteed field.
I dont care if I have to take a lesser job and a little paycut to do it.
Its awful where I work, and just getting worse. Either I quit, or I'm being pushed out. My choice.
KUDOS TO YOU. Glad to hear it was the best thing you ever did.

Booo those stupid people and their stupid opinion!! I also just quit my **** ty job after being there for over 6 years. It got to the point that I was absolutely miserable every day that I had to work, (and I worked ALOT!) Now I'm hangin out at home doing the books and stuff for my boyfriend's business, and life is much much better. What's the point in dragging yourself to work every day if you hate it?

I think it was a good decision as long as you have money to get by until you find a new job.

They are putting you down because THEY are miserable at work and are taking it out on you because unlike you they won't do something about it. I will tell you right now that is at least half of it proably. I'd say don't worry about it and do what you think was best.
