Icelanders dress like people in the U.S. and Canada. Some of the older women wear long black dresses and walking shoes, which is their traditional dress. During holidays the women wear the black dress that is embroidered with gold or silver threads.

They eat lamb and fish more than any other people in other countries. Even their hot dogs are made of lamb. Their favorite dessert is called, skyr, which is made from milk curds, much like our yogurt and is served with sugar and cream.

Their homes were once built of turf and stone in the countryside, but now they are built with reinforced concrete because of the many earthquakes and high winds they have. The homes are usually painted in pastel colors.

They like swimming and even swim in the winter in pools outdoor that are warmed by hot springs.

Most of the Icelanders have fair skin, blond hair, blue eyes and speak a Scandinavian language called Icelandic.

All Icelanders are officially called by their first name, even though they also have a last name. Their last name if their father's first name followed by "son", if they are a male and "dottir" if they are female. Many of them have the same name that the telephone directory list each person's occupation in addition to his or her name and address.

Hope some of this information helps you.
