Tyler State Park, 90 miles east is lovely especially in the fall.

Check out Lake Ray Roberts, about 50 miles north. Good camp sites, although the lake may be a little low this time of year.

possum kingdom lake,
camping (cabin and tent), boatingm, fishing
just outside the DFW metroplex

also good is Lake Texhome, off 75 in Sherman
