Yup, but I would also defend others' right to say you are "Full of --it."

Interesting comment to my answer Mr. Happy. Are you implying that others do not have the freedom to disagree with you? I think you need to re-read the Constitution. It says that we have the freedom to speak our minds without prosecution, it does not say we are excused from the consequences of our speech. In other words, you have the right to say whatever you want (other than the shouting "fire" analogy), but others also have the right to express their disagreements with what you say. If you think you are above that part, then it is you that needs to get a life.

Nobody has the right to say whatever they want because then we we will have another speaker like Hitler and look where that took the world - of course some might say that Blair and Bush are just as bad and people are dying as I write this because of what they SAY and do

No I wouldn't - thats your job.

I would never persecute your right to say what you like. Thats what life in a free country is about. But I wouldn't bother defending someone in particular.

I defend freedom of speech in general but I'm not going to protest to let, say, muslim women wear a veil when I dislike it and it doesn't affect me. Thats up to them to protest and defend.

not that simple if your spouting propaganda and by doing so turning people into human bombs then no but if your saying something that i dont agree with but doesnt do any damage then yeh feel free shame english people cant say what they feel here in the uk yet imagrants that dont agree with a stupid cartoon can walk through london and ask for the head of the man that drew it just an example, like i say not that simple of a question, political corectness has ended free speech for us i feel.

Yes I would; and I would not go to congress to make them pass a 'sensitivity bill' to make you say nice things that would be pleasing to my ears.

People, just laugh more and get over what fellow Americans may say to 'offend you'. Life it soo short to sue someone over words and actions.

What happened to "Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself"?

So, in short, yes, I will defend your right to say whatever it is on my pretty little mind. :-)

i would, 100%,just because i dont agree with you it does not mean that you cant say it. its your right, and i believe we all should have that right. im so glad we ahve the 1st amendment, and our country is a indirect democracy. ( i belive it is indirect) but say it, but just dont physically harm someone, or put them in harm, cuz then you can get in trouble. appreciated the 1st amendment.
