i am a little confused because being racist versus enlightened just don't compare. racism is hating racism because of the color oftheir skin or because they are from a diffrent country than you. Being enlightened would be knowing facts about something or someone in order to make a decision you coukld know a fact that a white man or woman murdered and raped a 3 year old but that doesn't mean the whole white race is bad, or you could know that a black man or woman shot and killed someone while robbing a bank that doesn't mean the wholer black race is bad all races and countries have good and bad people and need to be judged if you are going to judge by the individual not the whole race or country

i think that when we talk about racism it is always assumed that it is a white person being racist to a black or asian person, however, i think that we have this the wrong way round.
I have many friends from both asian and black communities who, even in front of me, a white woman, make openly racist remarks, if i was to comment on this or say the same to them then it would be myself who would be accussed of being racist.
How can people judge anyone on the colour of their skin or their beliefs, it will be this kind of thing that ends the human race.....

Prejudice is a natural human instinct. There are people we take a liking to and others we do not. It is only when we start to analyse the reasons for our preferences that we fully appreciate what it is we are prejudiced against.

i know a black woman in Birmingham and she hates white people. She is racist but if i said it to her she would have me in court. people should not generalise and judge by skin colour alone, I take people as i find them, If they are nice to me i am nice to them. To answer your question some of us are racist and some of us are enlightened, Thats the way it will always be.

Yes we are to some extent, we all have our prejudices about something whether we will admit it or not. You want to say that your not but somthing somewhere will happen and there it comes and you really don't plan on it nor expect it but it does. And that is really a wake up call. We all should try hard not to let things effect us to that point, but we do.

Racism is thinking you are superior to someone else.To pre judge you are judging on how the person sounds, looks or acts.Neither one is really the right thing to do.Everyone deserves to be who they are.Just has everyone deserves the right to their opinions.

Unfortunately, there is far more prejudice than people care to admit, in all it's various forms. Some are just good at hiding it.

I know black and asian people far more prejudiced than some white people. The worst disease they suffer from is self hate. Which I think is 10 times more harmful than facing hatred by another person/group of people.

I think most people are racist to some degree. Just look at some of the questions on this site. Homophobia abounds.
