Fur is just like leather, except made from the fur of cuter animals... It's pretty dumb to hate people who wear fur and wear leather! Thats like saying only cute animals shouldn't be worn and ugly ones (like cows) are okay to wear as leather. And i've heard that some of the leather companies or whatever just throw the rest of the body away once they're done making the leather. So they don't always use the meat for food.

If you don't wear leather though... Theres still some stuff I need to say. Why shouldn't they buy the fur coat they want? It's not like some other person isn't going to buy it, someone will buy it eventually. Not only that, but the animal will die eventually, why not make its death useful and let it benefit people?

Same with animal testing, if it wasn't for animal testing, a bunch of people would be dead now.

I only beleive this about wild animals, not domesticated ones.

If theres no answers I'll just assume everybody who read this agrees with me now. =)

To Kevin: I think they should benefit humans because we are smarter than animals, and plus we do also help animals like dogs we have zoos to take care of some animals. So it seems kind of fair. Not only that but we can thank the animal, but if it benefits another animal they're to stupid to know if an animal died for it or not.

If you eat meat then there is no reason you shouldn't wear fur. I am wigged out about animal testing, though. I also don't take medicines very often, so to me it serves no purpose. But others have to do what they think is best.

I think your question touches on much more than you think it does.
Ages ago when there were no big companies making materials, especially materials that could look, feel, and keep you warm just like fur there was a very good reason to wear fur. Leather too for that matter.
Now, the only reason to wear fur, especially, is to show off how rich you are or how powerful you think you are. It's an ego thing not a survival thing now.
So if you want to kill some furry critter that's been raised in captivity ( don't kid yourself! darn few if any of the criters used to make fur clothes are hunted nowdays I bet! It's just so much easier and more economic to raise them. Usually in tiny cages and bad conditions so they make more money off the hides.) just to show off how rich and powerful you think you are... that's your karma.
As for leather from cow's and other domestic animals like goats, pigs and such. Practicly all of those critters are used somehow, some where. Blood, bone, meat, internal organs all of it.
But you are right about the Fur only animals carcuses just being tossed usually. Minks are rodents and so are chinchillas. Not meny folks want to eat rodent. But then again rabbits are also members of the rodent family and folks eat them.
As for agreeing with you, as a meat eater myself, I can only say yes and no. Yes, because I do eat meat, and some times wear leather shoes. But also, no, because I try to note that yes, I am living off of and benifiting from the flesh and thus the death of another living being. I try to see their death as a sacrafice and try to honor them for making it.
If you think that's odd, I see vegtables in the same light, when ever I'm chowing down on a salad!

I agree with you. Animals furs should be used for clothing. The only time there should be regulations to control depopulation of certain animals would be if they are an endangered or near extinct species. Then for a time there should be a moratorium on killing them so that they can have an opportunity to increase their numbers.

Why should an animal have to be put to death to "benefit people"? That's what I would like to know.
