Do they not know which side it is
unless they look at their hands?

JR...baby, I know that you are smart enough to know which side of the street you're on without looking at your hands to figure it out..c'mon!!! Please tell me you don't say...It's on the LEFT HAND side...!

Yeah that is strange..they could just say.."it will be on your right or left" or "take a right here and take a left here" etc. etc.

It's easier to know what side of the street it's on.

That's a logical assumption, but there's also the possibility that their afraid you don't know.

iit just shows direction..
iif iit annoys you get a map and don't bother them
