After many years of using electric clippers to stay trim (not bald) this has just recently become a problem. Any real help would be appreciated. :)

Maybe the problem just started because I bought a new pair of clippers and tossed the old ones.

I think I should have said "ingrown hairs" once trimmed some become ingrown as they grow back. Hope the additional info will generate a helpful answer. Thank you for your replies.

I don't get it. You said you want to stay trim but not bald. Why are you worried about stubble if you are just trimming? The definition of "bald" is no stubble.

If you've been using the same clippers and are just starting to experience the problem, it could be time for new clippers.
