I love to send cards and letters and also to receive them. I send out cards to lots of people. I like to send cards to young people, especially, because getting mail addressed to them out of the mailbox is a rare and exciting thing. I get a list of children in the hospitals and such that wish to received mail and send them out something too.

Ya know, it almost seems like corresponding through cards and real letters anymore is becoming a dying breed. With this day and age of gadgets such as computers with e-mail, I can't say how long it has been since writing letters is so popular anymore.

I still send real letters and I still love to recieve them as I think it is exciting to get something in the post and it is nice to be able to keep letters and cards and they have a more personal touch as someone has taken the time to write them rather than just click a send button! Lou.x

This is a legitmate concern to historians, who think that in the future there will be so few real letters to look at that the job of historian will be harder.

There is a sincere beauty and sincerity in sending a letter. I just wrote both my boss and a sixth grader I am mentoring letters. It is not a lost art, many people are still enjoying the pleasure of sending a hand written note. . .

Snail mail letters? I don't send 'em unless the person doesn't have email...however I do send actual greeting cards via snail mail, as well as electronic ones...there's just something more personal about a paper Hallmark, versus one on the computer screen...

I most certainly do. Handwritten letters show the person that you took time out of your day and thought about them. It's way more personal than email or an e-card and in the business world, far more professional.
