If brian cant be understood why was he left in charge of the kids

both brian and stewie can be understood by the family. the family listens to brian because he is smart, philosophical and always knows the answer to lifes questions. the family can hear stewie, however they do not take him seriously for what he says, and they do not comprehend the seriousness of his words, and brush off his threats world destruction.

yes, they are both understood. Brian is taken seriously but stewie, well they just think is is confused about what he is saying. They understand him but don't pay much attention.

they can understand brian and as for stewie i think that they can but just choose to ignore it- too weird for them i guess
