Most continental volcanism occurs over subduction zones in convergent plate tectonic settings. But there are volcanic areas on continents(such as North America, Africa, and Europe) that are not located in convergent plate tectonic settings. Where is three examples of locations in the world where this type non-subduction-related continental volcanism is occurring and what is the possible reasons fo the volcanism in these regions???

New Mexico-New Mexico rift--potential future divergent plate boundary
Yellowstone--possible hot spot
Central Mongolia

Not exactly continental: (Iceland was built by volcanism along a divergent plate boundary in the ocean).

volcanic activity also occurs at divergent boundaries.biggest of all the example is mid atlantic ridge though that is related to the oceanic floor yet we can quote that...and DENMARK(GREENLAND) is also the part of maid atlantic ridge in atlantic ocean.
apart from this recent drifting is taking place in between africa and arabian plate.there it has 3 spreading centers and that is the most recent activity going on in the ocean...
