My friend confided in me that he is cheating on his fiance. She has absolutely no idea. From the surface they have a picture perfect relationship. He asked me what I thought about cheating. I told him she would probably rather him be a man and tell her the truth than be a coward in another woman's bed. Was that harsh? Am I wrong? Would women rather not know that their partner is cheating and live in ignorant bliss?

Obviously live in ignorant bliss..if they are so blind as to not see the egomaniac they are about to marry, then they are either very stupid or very near sighted.
Men cheat, not for sex, but for ego reinforcement. Anytime you play with a guy who has security problems about himself, you are setting yourself up for a cheater. Sad but true. Good luck, and keep your mouth shut....he confided in you, and what goes down is not your business, unless you want to kiss this friendship off...in which case, do what you will...she will not believe you in any event, will assume you are jealous of her...trust me, women have a wonderful way of blaming all their troubles on other women.

No it was not harsh. He asked you a simple question and you gave him an honest answer. Some women would rather know as not knowing would, to them, mean the relationship is built on lies, infidelity and deceit. There are women that know their partner is cheating deep down but don't persue the issue as what they don't know for sure cannot hurt them.

Cheaters irk me soooooooooooo much! They hurt all of those involved, emotionally and otherwise. You were NOT wrong in telling him what you did. In fact, I think that you were extremely nice to him. I would have told him in a very mean way, many choice words, etc. He would NOT have been happy with me! My ex husband had cheated on me over and over for 20 years. I didn't know a thing until someone told me. I wish someone had told me sooner so I would have moved on sooner and met my now fiance sooner. Yes, women want to know, and so do men, if their partner is cheating. If he is cheating now, it will definitely continue after marriage. If I were you, I would have told him to tell her about it NOW, or you would go and tell her yourself.

It depends on the lady. Most women will stay anyway!! Women, are always desperate to have a man, therefore, even if she knows the truth over 50% stay with the dog. Women need to get a grip, and not let this happen to them. The more that women tolerate this behavior, the more times men will do it.

I think you were very nice considering. And no it wasn't harsh at all. I would have probably called him a few choice words and then told his fiance before she made the biggest mistake of her life. I wouldn;'t want to live with a cheater.

Oh girl, i was on her position while i was engaged. Now i found the truth and damn, was it so painful. I dont know what to do, i think i cant give my trust back the way i trusted him before. I cant go back, im now married to the man who cheated on me while we were engaged. If only i could turn back time... i would rather stay single.

As painful as it may be, I still would rather know than to be kept in the dark. Men know that their doggish ways will leave us clicking our heels in the opposite direction, thats why they are cowards and wont admit it. I hope his fiance finds out before its too late.

Cheating by anyone on anyone else is sickening. I particularly detest it when they don't want to tell that they are cheating because they 'don't want to hurt her/him' Uh, excuse me, but NOT CHEATING would be a better way not to hurt them!!! It just shows a bad character.

Cheating is not nice, but "getting caught" totally irks me!!! Why would decide to cheat if you intend to get caught. Leave that game to the pros!!
