My Fiancee and I were messing about this afternoon while washing up, and I heard something crack. Since then my finger has swollen and hurts like mad! My driving test is in a couple of days and I just wondered if I have broken it will I be able to take my test?

The finger in question is ring finger on the right hand.

I drove with a broken arm in a cast before, but I'm pretty sure it's not legal (depending on where you live). I certainly don't think you will be permitted to take a driving test if you have any form of a splint on your finger.

I've seen bumper stickers that read:
Horn broken, watch for finger
But this isn't quite the same
I would go see a doctor about your finger if it is that painful.

just keep your hands on the wheel,in the 10 and 2 o,clock position ,it should not stop the test

You should be okay to drive- I broke my wrist once, but still managed to drive. It did affect my piano playing though. Good luck on your driving test!!

go get checked and yes you can. I broke the bone in my hand and did not loose my permit... I had to have surgery to fix it.. 2 screws and still can drive..
