there is no blood relation, so it is OK as long as the both of you feel comfortable with it. If you are having doubts then maybe there is an underlying reason that you shouldn't.

it would be not wise because you came to know this "step nephew" through your relationship, not on your own. it could be hurtfull to your previous relationship, if you got involved. also age should be a something you must look at.

You have no shared bloodline with him. It isn't wrong because of the relationship as long as it isn't wrong because of any other factors. Hopefully he is single.
