If they are totally gone - you are not in labor. Normally contractions are tightening of your belly. You would feel them around your belly button and you can phyiscally see your belly tightening. You are probably feeling your uterus pushing on your bladder OR your little one putting themselves into position. Moving down into your hips.
Oh - btw - you're doc will tell you to pay attention to "regular" contractions. This means any pattern. When I was prego I had BH (braxton hicks) from about 20 wks on. And they would be every 3 minutes. When I actually went into labor...I had three sets of contractions every three minutes and then would go seven without. Then it would start over again. This is labor. It was "regular".
Every womans body is different. Just pay attention and call the doc on call with questions.
Good luck!

They could have been the beginning of labor. Pay attention to weird pains you have in the next few days and time them if they seem to be coming regularly. There's no way to tell you for sure what labor will feel like when it starts because it is different for everyone. You might have cramping in your back or an upset stomach and loose bowel movements to begin with though.

If they are irregular and do not get closer together in timing, or come and then go away, then they are most likely Braxton Hicks contractions. If you start having pains that increase in frequency and intensity, then you are going into labor. Braxton Hicks can occur at any time before the actual labor.

Who knows? But even if it is false labor, you need to check it out. What is the worse that will happen if you go to the hopsital? They'll send you home? If you don't go and there is something wrong or you are in labor, a doctor is probably the best person to ask. Good luck, hope you have a healthy baby.

You ususally don't get those kind of pains from contractions, sounds to me as if the baby was turning and getting into position, which can sometimes be very painful. If you get sever cramps either in the front or on your lower back, and they continue, time them and go into the hospital when they get about five minutes apart. If they are not regular, then don't worry about it.

I would say that they coul d be early contractions, except that they lasted 15 minutes. Contractions won't last that long. Continue to time the pains and if they increase in frequency you should call your doctor. Good luck!

When you get contractions it will feel like your belly is being squeezed. Once the feeling gets about 10 mins appart (or how ever far appart you doctor said), or if your water breaks go to the hospital.

They could have been what they call Braxton Hicks contractions...they are false labor pains. I would watch myself and if they return count how long each one lasts and how far apart they are. If they are inconsistent then don't worry but if they are consistent call your doc.

I would go see your midwife or OB-gyn and not wait. You might be in early labor or might have Braxton Hicks contractions (false labor.) Either way, is better to be checked.
