Ive had this old desktop .. i believe it running windows 98 .. i need help reeboting the whole system,just deleting EVERYTHING i had. I dont have the cd or anything so if anyone can help thanks!

well i dont need any of the files /old pics/music w/e i have on it but it has a virus and I would like to have it back as factory setup but again i dont have the disk ..

hey Nikolas S thanks but i do have another computer .. i got it no more than a year ago and the other one is for learning and such thats why im trying to fix it

Get the win98 cd then create a boot disket an proceed with the installation as in the old times...

you should not delete anything off of it before you get a operating system cd like windows. If you do the computer will do nothing when you start it up. When and if you do get a operating system cd write me back and i will guide you throught the steps.

If your laptop has a virus I think you need to go buy a Northern Antivirus. It helps remind you when a virus is coming they will ask
you what do you want to do.trust me I have a HP laptop too and its old belive it or not! Bingo I win!!!

CruZ, I have a better solution for you. Your machine is old and if you start upgrading, it will cost you much more than a new one. So, if you can scrape off about $500.00 to $800.00 bucks go get a new one for yourself and forget about bringing the old one back to life, unless you want to do it for training and learning, which is another story.
